Good Night Uncle Joe

Good Night Uncle Joe is a great success.
It is extremely well written and very well researched. I hope this is not the last I see/hear of this play. I hope it is submitted to the CBC and the BBC. Elendune is a gifted writer. There is not an angle of the Cold War and times preceding it he does not miss - he uses the dialogue to illustrate the anomalies of both the Soviet policies and those of United States.

The writer managed to make an interview between Beria and an American journalist very believable because of the depth of his insight into what he was writing about. There was humour, irony, clever conversation between the two characters well acted by Christine Karpiak and Dennis Eberts.

This was a first night - I have a feeling as Eberts relaxes more into his role there will be more chiaoscouro to his performance. He will slow down and use timing more effectively. He has such good lines to deliver; in fact they both do.

I truly hope Good Night Uncle Joe receives the attention it deserves.
